Responsible AI in education, grounded in professional practice
AI is already part of educational practice. The questions educators raise are rarely technical, they are about what is appropriate, what is safe, and how professional judgement should be applied in real contexts.
The Institute of AI in Education (IAIE) is an independent organisation supporting responsible, evidence-informed use of AI in education. We work with schools, trusts, and partners to translate national guidance into practical decision-making support, professional learning, and carefully designed pilot programmes.

Thoughtful Use of AI in Education
IAIE focuses on the thoughtful application of AI where it can genuinely support educational practice without undermining professional judgement, safeguarding, or public trust. Our work prioritises responsibility, proportionality, and alignment with sector expectations rather than rapid or untested adoption.
Who We Work With
Why IAIE Matters
AI is already being used in schools, often without shared frameworks, consistent guidance, or clear oversight.
IAIE exists to support schools and education partners in making responsible, defensible decisions about AI grounded in professional judgement, safeguarding, and national guidance.
We focus on decision support, not tools; learning, not hype; and practice that protects learners and public trust.

Our Work
Supporting responsible AI use in education
The Institute of AI in Education (IAIE) works with schools, educators, and partners to support the thoughtful, ethical, and evidence-informed use of artificial intelligence in education.
Our work focuses on practical decision-making, not technology promotion. We help educators understand where AI may be appropriate, how it can be used safely, and where clear limits and professional judgement must remain central.
